Housing

It would be difficult for any of us to succeed and grow if our basic needs were not met.  Safe housing is an integral component of our program which allows youth the security necessary to move forward on the road to self sufficiency.  By identifying housing options that youth can maintain after graduation, we seek to minimize the stress for youth and establish a foundation for their future success. 

Rise Above for Youth offers two options for youth including:

Scattered Site Apartment Housing:

Rise Above for Youth works with local property owners to provide apartments to emancipated youth during the program period.  Participants are provided with a furnished apartment and are responsible for a portion of the rent.   Upon graduation, youth who have maintained their apartments satisfactorily and have a track record of successfully meeting their obligations, have the opportunity to take over the rental lease and retain all furnishings for their use.

Rise Above for Youth Owned Properties:  

Rise Above for Youth will soon offer specialized housing for youth who have circumstances that may require additional support.  These properties will have on-site Resident adviors as well as facilities to accommodate other program components such as training and educational assistance.  Two groups targeted for these facilities include:

• Pregnant/Parenting Mothers
• LGBT Youth

All youth participating in these homes have the option of moving into apartment housing as they progress through the program.
